The working experience is extremely important. What we study in theory, we have to be able to apply it in a working environment. Reliance College plays an exceptional role in assisting students in getting quality internships, should it be hotels or travel agents and it most cases, students received offers letter from the organisation to join as a full time employee upon completion of the internship.

BA (Hons) Hospitality Industry Management

The 3 1/2 years in Reliance College have brought me heart-warming memories. I had an interesting and eventful college life with my group of wonderful college mates. We travelled together and participated in various events or activities such as sports day, prom night and Outdoor Leadership Devolopment Program. When it was time to study for our exams, we held group discussions and we studied hard together, especially during our final degree year.

When I was the Vice President of Student Relations Unit, I learnt the importance of managing functions and people through Planning, Organizing Leading and Controlling and fully apply it to ensure every event run smoothly. Heading the Student Relations Unit was not an easy task as there are so many things to do when organizing functions besides dealing with the differences among the committee members. Having involved in the extra-curricular activities through Students Relations Unit we have learnt the importance of networking, developing interpersonal and organizing skills and strengthening relationship among students of Reliance College.

My internship completely opened my eyes to the tough but exciting world of a Travel Agency. The skills I’ve learnt during those 6 months have helped me to face the countless challenges where I work today at a leading Travel Agency in SIngapore – to pro-act, preempt situations, and most important – to understand the psychology of my clients. I love my job!
